Two years ago, when I was still taking my LTS 2 class we have to go to Kalayaan Elementary School every Saturday to teach students there. On our way to that school I am intrigued to this place in Calauan, Laguna where they are putting up this humongous gorilla and other cemented structures in the middle of the rice fields in that area. I was thinking if it's going to be a resort or a restaurant. I promised myself that I will go there as soon as it is opened.
After some time, I already forgot that place until we passed by it on our way to Quezon Province last Wednesday night. It's open already and there are a lot of cars parked in front and its shining brightly because of the lights surrounding it. It's a floating resto-fun park and it's called Isdaan.
Since Lloyd and I will be celebrating our tenth month together, we had our dinner date there. I think it's perfect for the occasion and the ambiance of the restaurant is very much romantic too. =) As soon as we arrived there, a waiter escorted us to our nipa hut which is far away from the entrance. Yeah, the restaurant is really big.

It's very hard to choose what to eat because their menu is very long! They have a huge array of food you can choose from. Name it, from beef to pork to chicken to fish and other seafood, cooked just the way you want it! Mostly are Filipino food and that's greaaaaaaaaaaaaat! Filipino pride. <3
|
Back-to-back pa yan! |
Let's go to the food we ate. =)
Just by reading "Juicy spareribs", it makes my mouth water. Haha. It's not only juicy but the meat is very tender as well. It's marinated perfectly having a hint of sweetness in it.
|
Juicy spareribs. |
Fresh buko juice is better than buko shakes!
|
From the tree of life. Haha. |
Lechon tinupig na manok is said to be their specialty. The chicken is marinated first with coconut milk before it's grilled according to the waiter. =) I really don't know the exact meaning of
tinupig but maybe it has something to do with the way the chicken was marinated. Try searching "lechon tinupig" in Google and only food reviews or articles about
Isdaan will appear. Haha.
|
Tinupig. |
Their bulalo is heavenly! It's the best bulalo I tasted so far. From its tender meat to its soup makes me want to eat this every rainy day. Seriously!
|
Laki ng bulalo! |
Most common Filipino food appetizer:
ensalada! Contains eggplant, tomatoes and onions. Red egg goes well with this!
|
Balasenas Ensalada. |
|
Native na native! Achieve na achieve. Hahaha. |
All the food we ordered is not only good for two persons but maybe good for up to 4 people already! Their servings are generous and the quality of food is great. =) Please don't ask why we did not order any dish that has fish in it because Lloyd doesn't like fish that much. Or should I say he rarely eats fish. Haha. We were serenaded by the Salbabida Boys while we were eating. You have to give them 20.00 pesos tip for every song that they will sing for you.
|
Note found in every hut. Haha. |
|
Emote yan si Kuya sa pagkanta! |

My poging boyfriend. |

Will wear this romper on school next week and blog about it too. This is my Chictopia reward! Okay lang umulit ng outfit! haha. |
|
Happy 10th! |
After eating we explored the restaurant. I think we consumed more time walking around than eating. Let me give you a quick tour inside the resto-fun park. =) I'll let the photos do the talking!

We also tried boating in the river and had a small chat with the boater. He talked about how long the restaurant was built (around 4 years time) and it's not even finished yet. He also talked about the statues around the place and approximately how much they cost. He said that we should go back there as soon as its completely finished and all the fountains are functioning. Manong Bangkero is very nice. Hihi.
I will bring my family there. Makoy will also enjoy here! They also have magic shows during weekends! That's fantastic. Please give this restaurant a try and I am sure that you will like it there! Better than Kamayan sa Palaisdaan! I don't want to say that but it's the truth. Haha. I can't share their website yet, they don't have any. If you try to Google about Isdaan, reviews and photos about their branch in Tarlac (1st branch) will be seen. None about their branch in Calauan yet. Haha. They will be opening their 3rd branch in Nueva Ecija too.
Love love!

ReplyDeleteThank you for posting your pictures. I live in Los Banos,Laguna and I've never been there "yet". Now that I saw the pictures, I feel I wanna go there right NOW...hahaha We've been to the Palaisdaan resto several times and We just love their food. Now, I'm gonna try Isdaan and compare. Wait for my blog too!
ReplyDeleteAnd oh, for those coming from Cubao...you may take the HM bus (terminal is along EDSA-left side from Makati to Kalookan, after Aurora Blvd.)going to Sta.Cruz,Laguna. Just tell the driver you're going to "Isdaan" in Calauan. From LRT-Buendia, you may take the DLTB bus or the Greenstar bus to Sta.Cruz. See you all there!

ReplyDeleteSEND ME THE LINK IF YOU'RE GOING TO BLOG ABOUT IT! THANKS.
CHECK THIS OUT, MY SECOND TRIP TO ISDAAN: http://laurenstarrr.blogspot.com/2011/11/food-trip-isdaan-calauan-laguna-part-2.html
ReplyDeletehi! how can i get here from manila can you send me google map?
ReplyDeleteGIRLYN, I AM NOT REALLY SURE IF THEY HAVE WI-FI. SORRY.
ReplyDelete@ANONYMOUS1 - MAYBE IT DEPENDS ON ONE'S JUDGEMENT BUT I REALLY PREFER ISDAAN THAN PALAISDAAN. THE AMBIANCE IS MORE RELAXING AND I THINK THE PRICE OF THE FOOD IS ALMOST THE SAME WITH PALAISDAAN BUT I LIKE ISDAAN'S FOOD BETTER. MAYBE YOU SHOULD STILL GIVE IT A TRY. =)
@ANONYMOUS2 - IT'S VERY EASY TO GO THERE FROM MANILA. ONE BUS RIDE FROM CUBAO (HM TRANSPORT) THEN JUST TELL THE DRIVER THAT YOU ARE GOING TO ISDAAN, CALAUAN.
