REUNITED WITH MY HIGH SCHOOL LOVES.

I really can't remember when was the last time my high school barkada was complete. Back in highschool, we would always have lunch together, share our baons, write in our "sacred journal", talk about anything under the sun and laugh about it. If I remember it correctly, we would also fight about petty things. Haha. After high school, we went to different schools but we would still occasionally catch up with each other BUT not complete. So yesterday, the time has come that we finally got the chance to see each and everyone! So happy!

We usually meet at CBTL in Trinoma and then to Giligan's for some drinks. Back then, we were all good girls meaning no vices at all except for making lait to people we hate. Haha. Well, people change and we are all grown ups now. We party and drink and I think that it's not bad if you only do it sometimes. We would enjoy ourselves but we definitely know our limits. =)

Anyway, yesterday was different. We ate at Bigoli. Before ordering, we were so excited to open Tasha's pasalubong from Puerto Princesa Palawan. By the way, she won Miss Philippines Earth - Ecotourism 2011. It's this necklace where you would have to open an oyster to get the pearl inside that you have to put inside the locket-looking-like-a-cage-pendant (Don't know what to call it! Haha). You even have to make a wish before opening the oyster! Pretty cool huh? Refer to this photo below:

I am so poor right now, I can't even afford to buy myself food because I just used my allowance to buy my fashion rulers. Hahahaha. But thank God I have very good friends to treat me because they can't afford  me to miss this lakwatsa just because I am poor. Hahaha. Thank you Tasha, pinasa lang sayo ni Kat, Lilah and Alli yung pagbabayad ng food ko. That's what real friends do. =p

After that, Alli, Jackie and Piya accompanied Tasha to buy a new hairbrush while me, Kat and Lilah went outside to mall to do something else.We decided to meet at Timezone because we are going to have our picture taken at the photo booth there. We were so happy with this photo booth!! Hahaha. Am taking photos while waiting for the machine to get ready again. You can also send the photos to your phone via bluetooth!! Haha. So cool! After that, Alli needed to change clothes because she's attending a debut party. I told her that she's too old for that. I don't get invited to debut parties anymore but I'have been invited with a lot of binyagan already. Haha.

Then finaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally, Mara and Mich arrived but Piya, Alli and Jackie have to go already. =( So it's just only the six of us (Kat, Mara, Mich, Lilah, Tasha and me) who went to Seafood Island. Giligan's is so full, so we traded our favorite place for Seafood Island. =( Mich has so many chismis!! Haha. Funny lang how she told the stories. =p Super fun bonding with my girls. Tasha also shared her Miss Earth experiences. And oh, Mara opened her oyster too! Wait, that sounds odd. Haha.

We always have endless kwentuhans and bondings when we see each other. Maybe because we only get to do this like once in a season. Haha. Even though that's the case, we make sure to  check up on each other by stalking our Facebook accounts, posting in our secret group and texting each other.  I love my girlfriends so much. LEARNING TO DESIGN.

Yna and I arrived a little early at school today. Our instructor for Basic Fashion Design is Ms. Korinne Vinarao. She is only 26 years old and she graduated from UP Diliman before she studied at FIP. Like what we did yesterday, we introduced ourselves again. There were only a few new faces to me because a lot of them were my classmates from pattern making. After that, Teacher Korinne started her lecture by discussing the brief history of fashion and then so on. I like this class compared to pattern making. It is very interesting and fun. Pattern making is quite boring. Haha.

During our break, we made new friends! Meet Ate Aya and Marianne. They are my new yosi buddies. Haha. Oh and also Steph but she's not yet there when we took these photos. We had a little chat about our "past lives", as in what we did with our lives before enrolling to FIP. Ate Aya studied Architechture while Marianne is a self-supporting student since highschool. They are now both taking the "Professional Designer Package" of FIP.

After our lunch break, we did two exercises. First one is called wrist exercise and the second one is that we need to find photos from a magazine which exemplifies a principle of design. A total of seven photos for that. While doing our exercises, Yna and I talked about the people we hate, as usual. Haha. Kidding! We finished these two exercises in a jiff. We are both always in a hurry just because we wanted to go home early. Hihi.

 At looooooong last, Yna is about to finish her 3rd project for her sewing class. She only needs to sew the buttons. Congratulations Yna! Haha.

Good night. Time to sleep. Still thinking if I will go to school tomorrow to do my patterns or go to LB. I want to see my boyfriend. I miss you Babe. =(

FIRST DAY OF CLASSES.

My new school, Fashion Institute of the Philippines, is located at 8th Floor, One San Miguel Avenue, Ortigas Center corner Shaw Boulevard Pasig City. To go there coming from my house, I need to ride a bus and the MRT. From the MRT station I just needed to walk a few blocks to reach the building. Our class (basic pattern making, every Tuesday) starts 9:00 in the morning and our teacher is Ms. Monina Tan-Santiago. Yna and I arrived a little late because I got lost. Hahahahaha. I know right. We introduced ourselves first and we're 29 in our class (quite a lot really). Anyway, she discussed about the different parts of the body that needs to be measured when making clothes as well as the different tools and terms that are used when making patterns.

Around 12:00 noon, I had lunch with Yna, Krystel and Irish on a nearby food chain called "Rufo's". I actually like their tapa. It tastes like the beef pares of Rally Point. Hihi. We really don't have lots of time to eat, we only have an hour for our lunch break and that's the only "official" break we have for our 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM class.

When we returned to our school, it is time for us to apply what Ms. Monina taught earlier. We took our body measurements. I paired with Irish and Yna paired with Krystel. That part was sooo easy. =)

 I never thought that making a pattern is hard. You have to be precise with the measurements and all that. Our first exercise is to make a basic skirt pattern with two darts. I hate this part but I have to learn it. Fortunately, I finished mine. I now have to do 5 of this pattern at home. It's our assignment for next week.

 After our class, the four of us headed to Megamall. We checked fabrics and the set of rulers we need. We also passed by this shop called "Cache Cache". They have cute clothes and they are on sale. After that we decided to go home.

I am so tired today. I hate the jampacked MRT. I suddenly missed my laid-back college life at UPLB. No traffics, no jampacked MRT and not polluted.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL BASICS.

Tomorrow is my first day of school at Fashion Institute of the Philippines. I enrolled there last Friday accompanied by my good friend Yna. So last weekend, I bought my "school supplies". I felt like an elementary student while picking them because I just needed basic stuffs like pencils, pattern paper, masking tape, rulers, etc. You know, the typical list of school supplies given to elementary students or even highschool students during registration period. I used to love National Bookstore when I was still in highschool. It has everything you needed for school and even good books. I buy my school stuff there. I have this huge purple pencil case which includes purple pens, purple scissors, purple eraser, purple ruler, purple glue, purple sharpener, purple anything that is possible to find in a pencil case, you name it. Haha. I wanted to do the same thing again this time but there are no purple HB pencils, purple shears, purple set of rulers etc. but I'm fine with it. =) I got a purple sharpener and clear book though.  =)

 Lat Saturday, I was home alone. I was supposed to go to SM or Trinoma and buy a pair of shoes because it's mid-year sale but I decided to ditch it and went on an ukay-ukay trip alone. My very first ALONE ukay-ukay trip. =) I was so happy with the items I got there. I immediately got tired so only got a few adorable and unique items. Can't wait to wear them! The black leather skirt is for my friend Yna. When I saw this, I remembered that she bought a yard of black leather cloth because she's going to sew shorts for herself. She was thinking if the remaining cloth will be enough to sew a skirt too. No need to worry now Babe, I got you a black leather skirt! Haha. Yes, I am thoughtful like that. =)

What shall I do today? I am home alone again but I cannot afford to burn my allowance anymore. Hahaha. I wanted to buy this bag at CMG last night and it is 50% off but it's pink. Boo. Should I buy it? Or should I just clean our room to kill time? Haha.

10 FOOD TRIPS THAT I WILL MISS.

Having good food isn't only about eating at fancy restaurants and five-star hotel buffets and spending atleast 1000 pesos for a steak. For me, it is about exploring food chains, restaurants and even karinderyas and trying every food that looks delicious or just looks worth eating. Haha. For the last week of my vacation and bumness, I pleaded to my Boyfriend to accompany me to eat 10 meals that I will miss from LB because it's time for me to go to Fashion School already. This is only according to my taste buds so I really don't care if you don't like the food I included here or maybe you should also give it a try if you haven't tasted it yet. Haha. This is randomly arranged and not according to my most favorite down to the least. Here it goes:

1. Eatsumo Teri Haus' Combo Meal 2 which includes shrimp tempura, chicken/beef/pork teriyaki, 2 california maki, rice, mango and vegetable sidings. Although their food tastes quite bland, this is still one of my favorites because it never fails to make my tummy full. This meal costs only 95.00 pesos. You can also try there other meals like their Chicken Cordon Bleu and Pork Tonkatsu. Eatsumo offers a wide array of affordable Japanese food (price ranging from 55.00 pesos to 150.00 pesos) located at the 2nd floor of Anker's Building Grove, LB.

Combo 5: Tonkatsu/Torikatsu, Kani Salad, Rice and Vegetable Sidings.

 2. Mommy Ludy's Hayashi Burger Steak/Parmesan Chicken. I just love the cheese sauce poured over the burger steak/chicken which tastes just exactly what I want it to be. Oh I can't explain it, actually. Haha. This meal icludes a cup of rice and coleslaw or potato salad. They also offer pastas, pizzas, sandwiches and shakes. Mommy Ludy's is located at LB Square.

 3. Rally Point's Chili Chicken Wings. I first tried their wings as an appetizer but they also have it as a rice meal. It is perfect with cold beer! This is Seph's all-time favorite chicken wings. Haha. Rally Point is located along Grove, at LB Square and somewhere in Visayas Avenue, QC.

4. Black Brew's Pasta Platter which includes the pasta of your choice, a sandwich, a huge glass of blended iced tea and a cookie. I love their pasta alfredo! I always order this one but they also have pesto, bolognese, etc. This meal costs 125.00 pesos and it will surely make you happy. Haha. Black Brew is located at the 2nd floor of Vega Center.

5. Faustina's Spaghetti and Meatbombs and Pepperoni Pizza. The meatbombs are absolutely yummy. These are made out of ground meat and a few other secret spices. =p It costs 135.00 pesos which is almost good for two persons. I used to watch Ate Trix cook the food they sell especially when she's making pizza crusts and pies. I think I already tried every food in their menu already and the only food that I don't like is their pesto pasta. Haha. I also recommend their Blueberry Cheesecake which costs 95.00 pesos per big slice and their Silindro Ribs which I believe is their best-seller. Faustina's is located near Raymundo Gate at Lola J's Building.

 6. Gabino's Baby Back Ribs. My orgmates who lives at Filipina Apartment were the ones who discovered this heavenly viand. Haha. It is very cheap (60.00-65.00 pesos which includes a cup of rice, a bottle of softdrink or iced tea) but is very tasty. I think it is way better than the baby back ribs from Kenny Rogers or Rack's. Do try their bulalo too. Gabino's is a small karinderya located at F.O. Santos.

7. IC's Quarter Pounder and Mocha Cremachino. Who will not love this burger?! I had my first quarter pounder way back my freshman year. It only costs 49.00 pesos back then and now it costs 80.00 pesos. Haha. Meanwhile, this Mocha Cremachino costs only 65.00 pesos and it is as good as Starbuck's Mocha Frappe. Explore their menu, try ordering their crispy pata, sizzling bulalo, any of their pizzas and clubhouse sandwich. My orgmates introduced IC's Cafe to me and my Batchmates, Aryan and Roxie. Since then, I became a regular customer. I already miss partying there. =s IC's Cafe is located along Grove.

 8. Ellen's Fried Chicken (Cadapan's). This is probably the best karinderya chicken I have tasted my entire life. Haha. It costs roughly 40.00 pesos with a cup of rice. I remember the first time I ate there. I was with Xanders (RIP) and he forced me to eat munggo which I don't like. Anyway, a lot of students of UPLB eat this because it is affordable plus it tastes good. I wish they will also have a Chicken-All-You-Can Promo  in the future. Hahahaha. Ellen's is located at Raymundo and Demarses.

9. Vatcave's Lechon Kawali. Sorry but I don't have a photo of it. Boo. Hmm. What can I say aside from it tastes good? Basta, you have to eat this while you're in LB and I bet that you will like it! I am craving for it right now because I don't have a photo of it but it keeps on flashing in my mind. Haha. This is torture, I haven't  had dinner yet! Argh.

10. Proben is the most popular street food in LB. It is made from the proventriculus of a chicken (a part of the stomach) and is breaded and deep fried. It is better than isaw, I think. I was hesitant to eat this at first because I am bothered why isn't it sold here in QC. Hahahaha. Really. Too bad, I can't eat this anymore due to my stomach problems. Grr.
